announcing its new StreetROM line of electronic HID ballasts.

The StreetROM smart ballasts incorporate LONWORKS® power line communication technology by Echelon, which enables cities to remotely monitor and control streetlights over the existing power line network.

The StreetROM ballasts connect directly to the Echelon i.LON® SmartServer without the need for additional, expensive, and bulky external hardware. The integration of ROMlight and Echelon technologies provide this unique next generation built-in two way communication feature in HID ballasts.

The StreetROM ballasts are highly efficient and when combined with the Echelon i.LON® SmartServer can deliver over 50% energy savings, as well as monitored management of the lighting assets. This smart lighting system can be applied to street lighting and outdoor lighting, as well to commercial and industrial buildings.

StreetROM ballasts make demand response programs easy to use with features such as programmed lighting profiles, peak load shaving, and customized remote monitoring.
